The company's corporate documentation identified it as incorporated in a jurisdiction with a connection to the stated project region, and its stated management team included individuals with generic central Asian resource sector experience in their biographies.
The satellite images had been sourced from publicly available commercial imagery archives relating to a different mining project in a different country. They had been digitally processed to remove identifiable features that might have enabled immediate attribution and had been combined with genuine terrain imagery of the stated project location to produce a composite that appeared to show activity at the correct site.
The Investigation

The named management team members could not be verified as having professional credentials in the mining or resource sectors through any publicly accessible record.
